No Jail Time for Ditka’s Son

It was a close call for Mark Ditka, the son of legendary Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka, who instead of going to prison, was released on probation. Last October, Mark Ditka was charged with felony drunk driving and drug possession charges. This was not his first time being arrested for drunk driving. Mark Ditka faced as much as three years in prison.

With the help of an experienced lawyer, Mark Ditka was placed on 24 months probation and ordered to perform 200 hours worth of public service work. This gave him a second chance at life. Even though his probation includes a 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, three year driver’s license suspension, and random drug testing, he no longer has to fear doing time in prison, as long as all of his probation terms are met.
