Matthew Fox Charged with DUI

In the early hours of Friday May 4th, Matthew Fox, star from the TV show “Lost,” was charged with DUI in Bend, Oregon. The 45 year-old actor was pulled over when a law enforcement officer noticed he was not staying in his lane or signaling properly.

Fox was charged with two misdemeanors: DUI and driving without a driver’s license. His arraignment hearing is scheduled for June 7th. The report did not disclose Fox’s blood alcohol content (BAC) at the time of his arrest, but it did suggest that this is his first DUI arrest.

Arizona is known for having strict DUI laws with mandatory sentences. If Matthew Fox was convicted of a regular Arizona misdemeanor DUI (BAC up to 0.149%), he would be subject to the following penalties:

  • 10 days in jail (9 days can be suspended),
  • $1,250 in fines and fees,
  • Ignition interlock device for at least 6 months,
  • Suspended driver’s license, and
  • Possible community restitution.

Even at the lowest level, Arizona DUI penalties are harsh and life-altering. If you are arrested for DUI, it’s important to select an experienced Arizona DUI attorney to represent you.  The judge and prosecutor will be experts in DUI, so it’s important that you have an expert on your side.
