I got a DUI, will my mugshot be posted online?
If you have been convicted of a DUI in Arizona, there is a good chance that your mugshot will be posted on line. While not all agencies release official records and mugshots, the following Arizona counties currently do post mugshots online: Apache County, Gila County, Maricopa County, Mohave County, Pima County, Pinal County, Yavapai County, and Yuma County. If your mugshot is released, it might be found on one of the following websites:
Depending on the county, and if no action is taken to remove it, your mugshot could be online for weeks, months, or years. The best way to determine if your mugshot is still online and for how long is to contact the county in which you were arrested.
The good news is you can take steps to have your mugshot taken down early. First, you must submit an application at www.unpublishmugshots.com or www.unpublisharrests.com. Please be aware that not all applications are accepted. These websites have the privilege to publish official records and usually only remove mugshots for specific reasons including, but not limited to: dismissal of charges, misdemeanor charge, disposition of acquittal or not guilty, juvenile records, and/or a non-violent charge.
Once your application is submitted it can take up to seven days for it to be processed while each Authorized Unpublishing Vendor verifies the eligibility of your case. Your case will also be verified a second time by a U.S. Attorney. Fees for having your mugshot removed vary and depend on the time required and number of mugshots to be removed.
